Abstract

Physi$cal acti$vi$ty i$s an i$nte$gral part of growth sti$mulati$on. Toddle$r growth i$s i$nflue$nce$d
by vari$ous factors, one$ of whi$ch i$s physi$cal acti$vi$ty. Ade$quate$ physi$cal acti$vi$ty can he$lp
i$mprove$ bone$ quali$ty, muscle$ stre$ngth, and me$taboli$sm, thus i$nflue$nci$ng growth status.
The$ purpose$ of thi$s study was to de$te$rmi$ne$ the$ re$lati$onshi$p be$twe$e$n physi$cal acti$vi$ty and
growth i$n toodle$rs i$n Se$tupatok Vi$llage$, Mundu Di$stri$ct, Ci$re$bon re$ge$ncy.
Thi$s re$se$arch me$thod i$s quanti$tati$ve$ wi$th de$scri$pti$ve$ re$se$arch de$si$gn that e$xami$ne$s the$
re$lati$onshi$p be$twe$e$n two vari$able$s usi$ng a cross-se$cti$onal de$si$gn. The$ populati$on of thi$s
study we$re$ chi$ldre$n age$d 1-5 ye$ars i$n Se$tupatok Vi$llage$, Mundu Di$stri$ct, Ci$re$bon
Re$ge$ncy, totali$ng 738 chi$ldre$n and the$ sampli$ng te$chni$que$ use$d starfi$e$d Random
Sampli$ng wi$th a total 88 sample$s. Thi$s study was conducte$d on July 18-24. Data colle$cti$on
use$d the$ E$arly Ye$ars Physi$cal Acti$vi$ty Que$sti$onnare$ (E$Y-PAQ) que$sti$onnai$re$ and he$i$ght
me$asure$me$nts. Data analysi$s was carri$e$d out usi$ng pe$rce$ntage$ and bi$vari$ate$ analysi$s
wi$th the$ chi$-square$ te$st.
The$ re$sult of the$ study showe$d that half of the$ re$sponde$nts (60,2%) had normal growth
based on the Height/Age index. The$ re$sult of stati$sti$cal te$sts showe$d that the$re$ was a
