Abstract

Nutrition problems remain a pressing issue in Indonesia, particularly among vulnerable
groups such as children under five. Nutritional education based on the principles of DNBS
(Diversity, Nutrition, Balance, and Safe) offers a strategic approach to address this
challenge. This study aimed to determine the effect of DNBS (Diversity, Nutrition, Balance,
and Safe) education on improving mothers’ knowledge about nutritious food in Argasunya
Subdistrict, Cirebon City. A quasi-experimental design using a one-group pre-test post-test
approach was applied, involving 75 mothers who have children under five.
Data were collected using a Guttman scale questionnaire. The findings revealed a

significant increase in mothers' knowledge after the intervention, supported by a paired t-
test (p < 0.001). DNBS (Diversity, Nutrition, Balance, and Safe) education proved effective

in enhancing mothers' understanding of healthy and safe food consumption. It is
recommended that DNBS (Diversity, Nutrition, Balance, and Safe) education be
implemented by relevant institutions continuously and expanded to improve public nutrition
awareness.
