Abstract

Cases of chronic kidney disease patients increased from 2% in 2013 to 38% in 2018 for a
total of 713.783. Active haemodialysis patients in West Java increase every year by 33.828
cases, a lifelong haemodialysis routine can be a source of stress that has the potential to
cause anxiety. The impact of anxiety in chronic kidney disease patients can cause clinical
symptoms, one of which is sleep disorders The purpose of this study is to determine the
level of cemass and sleep quality of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing
haemodialysis at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency.
The research method used uses descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach.
Sampling used a total sampling technique with a total of 93 respondents. The instrument
used in this study used the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) questionnaire on the
anxiety variable and the PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) on the sleep quality
variable. The statistical test used was Spearman's rho, this research was conducted at
Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency from 12th June 2024 to 15th June 2024.
The results of this study showed that the majority of anxiety levels in the category of mild
anxiety (35,9%), no anxiety (28,2%), (19,6%) moderate anxiety, (14,1%) severe anxiety
and (2,2%) experienced severe anxiety/panic Meanwhile, the majority of sleep quality is
poor (52,2%) and good sleep quality (4,78%) Based on the results of the spearman rho test
with a p-value of 0,000 (<0,005) Ha was accepted, it means that there is a relationship
between anxiety level and sleep quality of chronic kidney disease patients undergoing
haemodialysis at Waled Hospital with a moderate correlation coefficient value with a
positive or unidirectional direction.
The higher the level of anxiety, the worse the quality of sleep patients are expected to be
able to recognise signs, symptoms, and anxiety factors that can affect the quality of the
patient's sleep.
