Abstract
Elderly (elderly) is a final stage process in human life that every person will go through.
Elderly is a condition characterized by a person's failure to maintain balance regarding
health and physiological conditions (Titis, 2019). Posbindu activities for the elderly can
improve the health status of the elderly in accordance with the expectations of the elderly,
it will increase the motivation of the elderly in participating in posbindu for the elderly.
The family environment can provide encouragement, interest or willingness for elderly
people to take part in posbindu activities in Kesambi Village, Kesambi Health Center
Working Area, Cirebon City.
The research method used is descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach.
Sampling used a total sampling technique with a total of 90 respondents. The instrument
used in this research used a questionnaire. The statistical test used was spearman rank, this
research was conducted in Kesambi Village, Kesambi Health Center Working Area,
Cirebon City from 04 June 2024 to 20 June 2024.
The results of this study show that the majority of family support is poor (84.4%), but good
(10.0%). Meanwhile, some motivations are in the categories sufficient (80.0%), good
(12.2%), poor (7.8%). Based on the results of the Spearman rank test with a p-value of
0.000 (<0.005), Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between family support
and the motivation of the elderly in the Kesambi sub-district, the Kesambi Health Center
working area with a very strong correlation coefficient value in a positive or unidirectional
direction. The lower the motivation, the worse the family support. The suggestion is that
families should provide more attention, motivation and support to the elderly so that the
elderly do not feel that they are not needed. So that families can spend time with the elderly
by binding to a posbindu schedule every month.
