THE EFFECT OF SOCIAL SUPPORT AND COMPLIANCE WITH THERAPYSCHEDULE ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS AT PERMATA KUNINGAN HOSPITAL

Social support is a person's emotional needs obtained from information and assistance
from family, partners, and social communities in improving the health of patients with
chronic diseases experienced by hemodialysis patients, there is a significant increase in
psychosocial burden due to the limitations caused. This is a stress factor that affects patient
compliance in undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Based on this, social support and
compliance greatly affect the quality of life.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of social support and compliance with
therapy schedules on the quality of life of hemodialysis patients at Permata Kuningan
Hospital in 2025. This study was conducted on hemodialysis patients at Permata Kuningan
Hospital with a population of 83 respondents using total sampling. The method used is
quantitative. The questionnaire used is standard, namely the Multidimensional Scale of

Perceived Social Support, End-stage Renal Disease Adherence Questionnaire, WHOQOL-
BREF. This study uses classical assumption tests (multicollinearity test, normality test,

heteroscedasticity test), multiple linear regression analysis, multiple determination
analysis, hypothesis testing (t-test and F-test).
Based on the results of this study, the variables of social support and adherence to therapy
schedule have a significant effect on the variable of quality of life of hemodialysis patients
at Permata Kuningan Hospital. The results of the f count test were 23.893 > from the f
table of 3.110 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05, so the third hypothesis is accepted.
This means that both variables of social support (X1) and adherence to therapy schedule
(X2) simultaneously have an effect on quality of life (Y).
The suggestion in this study is that hemodialysis patients can be given good social support
from family, friends, and special people.
