Abstract

ABSTRACT
Education level influences individual mindset and awareness of the importance of health. However, the implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in households remains a challenge despite the long-standing government program. This study was conducted to determine whether maternal education level is related to the implementation of PHBS in households at the Majasem Community Health Center, Cirebon City. This study used a quantitative approach with a case-control design. The sample consisted of 93 respondents, determined using the Slovin formula and cluster sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results of the univariate analysis showed that most respondents had a high school/vocational high school education (28.0%) and 54.8% of mothers implemented PHBS well. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a relationship between maternal education level and PHBS implementation in households (p-value = 0.013). The higher a person's education level, the greater the likelihood of implementing clean and healthy living behaviors. This study is in line with Notoatmodjo's theory which states that education is a predisposing factor that influences health behavior. Therefore, health promotion interventions need to pay attention to educational aspects to increase the coverage of PHBS in the community.
