Abstract
Shrinkage of medical record documents is carried out to keep up with the
increasing number of archives, and is carried out in stages starting from sorting,
transferring, assessing, and destroying. Shrinkage of documents must be carried out
according to established guidelines for determining document storage. The purpose of
this study was to determine the readiness of implementing outpatient medical record
document retention at the Pabedilan Health Center.
This type of research used is descriptive method. The population used in this study
were 3 medical record officers at the Pabedilan Health Center. The instrument used in
this research is using a checklist sheet. The time and place of this research was
conducted on 15 May – 20 June 2023. Data collection was carried out on 5 June – 9 June
2023 at the Pabedilan Health Center.
Regarding preparation for outpatient medical record documents retention at
Pabedilan Public Health Center, 5 factors were obtained from observation above. There
are already 2 factors, that is machine and method factors and 3 factors unready, that is
man, money, and material factors.
It can be interpreted that the readiness for implementation of retention has a very
positive impact on storage racks so that conflicts do not occur in medical record files.
This research is expected that the puskesmas can facilitate officers related to training or
seminars, especially retention and make a schedule for archive retention so that the
retention process can be optimal.
