Abstract

Medical record return is a process of returning medical records from the
borrowing service unit back to the medical record unit. Medical record files are required
to be returned to the Medical Records Installation no later than ≤ 2 x 24 hours after the
patient is discharged. As a result of the late return of medical record documents, there was
a buildup of inpatient medical record documents, which eventually became the burden of
assembling officers. The purpose of this study was to determine the Inaccuracy of Inpatient
Medical Record Returns at the M.A Sentot Patrol Indramayu Regional General Hospital.
The type of research used is quantitative. This research instrument uses an
observation sheet. The population in this study were all inpatient files that came out in
December 2022 - February 2023 with a total of 701 inpatient medical record documents.
The sample in this study was 88 medical record documents. using the Simple Random
Sampling technique.
The results of the study at the M.A Sentot Patrol Indramayu Regional General
Hospital showed that of the 88 medical record documents studied, 31 (35.3%) were not
appropriate for returning medical records and 57 (64.7%) were appropriate for returning
medical record documents.
Based on the results of the study, it can be suggested that. Medical record officers
and nurses must often communicate regarding the return of inpatient medical records in
order to minimize the inaccuracy of medical record returns.
