Abstract
Physical activity is an important factor that influences the nutritional status of
adolescents because during this period, adolescents become more active and are
involved in many sports activities. However, there are also many who neglect the
physical activities they should be doing properly, such as being lazy to exercise.
They are less active due to several reasons, such as laziness, lack of internal
motivation, or external factors.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and physical
activity among early adolescents at Linggajati 2 Elementary School in Arahan
District, Indramayu Regency.
This research uses a quantitative descriptive correlational design with a crosssectional approach. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling, and the data
collection tool is analyzed using Spearman's rank. The sample size is 40 students
The results of this study indicate that most respondents, namely 29 respondents
(72.5%), have a good nutritional status, and that most respondents, namely 24
respondents (60.0%), have a good nutritional status (p-value = 0.000; α = 0.05; r
= 0.773). The correlation coefficient of 0.773 indicates that the Spearman test
results show a positive direction, meaning there is a strong and consistent
correlation between the two variables. The better the nutritional status, the better
the physical activity of adolescents.
Physical activity is an important factor that affects the nutritional status of
adolescents because during this period adolescents become more active and are
involved in many sports activities.
