Abstract

Final-year students often experience stress, especially when writing a thesis, which requires
intense focus and an uncertain timeline. This can disrupt their sleep quality.
This study aims to determine the relationship between sleep quality and stress levels among
final-year nursing students at ITEKES Mahardika Cirebon in 2025.
This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach and a crosssectional design. The sample size was 127, drawn using a total sampling technique. The
Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire was used to measure sleep quality and
the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42) to assess stress levels.
The results showed that most students had poor sleep quality and experienced moderate to
high levels of stress. Using the Spearman Rank test, a significant relationship was found
between sleep quality and stress levels (p < 0.05). The study concluded that poorer sleep
quality, higher stress levels were experienced by students. Therefore, it is important for
students to maintain sleep quality as a way to manage stress while completing their final
assignments.
