Abstract
Toilet training is one of the important developmental stages in early childhood that is
closely related to the announcement of independence and hygiene habits. The success of
this process is influenced by the parenting patterns applied by parents. The result of this
study is to analyze the relationship between parenting patterns and the success rate of toilet
training in preschool children living in the RW 007 area of Majasem Health Center, Cirebon
City.
The research design uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design, the
sample design consists of 50 parents with children aged 2-6 years selected through acci-
dental sampling technique. Data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires
that had previously been tested using the Chi-square statistic. It shows a significant rela-
tionship between parenting patterns and the success of toilet training (p<0.05).
The suggestion in this research is that the parenting patterns applied by parents influence
the success of toilet training in preschool-aged children. This research is expected to serve
as a basis for health professionals in educating parents about the importance of parenting
roles in supporting child development.
