Abstract

Knowledge plays a crucial role in the implementation of personal hygiene, especially among street food vendors who are at high risk of foodborne illness transmission. This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge and the implementation of personal hygiene among street food vendors in Cilimus Park, Kuningan Regency. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The total population of 80 vendors was selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test.
The results revealed that most respondents had good knowledge (51.3%) and good personal hygiene practices (65%). The chi-square test showed a significance value of 0.003 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between knowledge and personal hygiene practices. These findings suggest that higher knowledge among vendors leads to better personal hygiene practices. It is recommended that health agencies, especially health centers, provide regular education and monitoring for street food vendors.
