THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER’S BEHAVIOR IN BREASTFEEDING AND THE INCIDENCE OF TODDLER IN DIARRHEA IN THE WORK AREA OF PLERED COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, CIREBON REGENCY

Diarrhea s a condition of defecating more than 3 times a day with liquid
stools. Dehydration due to diarrhea can be very dangerous, because it causes the
loss of a number of body fluids that can lead to death. In this case, maternal
behavior plays a very important role in efforts to prevent diarrhea in toddlers. This
study aims to identify the relationship between maternal behavior in breastfeeding
with the incidence of toddler diarrhea in the work area of the Plered Community
Health Center, Cirebon Regency. The research design used was a cross-sectional
study with the research instrument in the form of a questionnaire sheet with a
Proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out
univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results of this study
obtained a p-value = 0.000 ≤ 0.05. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha is
accepted, indicating a significant relationship between the relationship between
maternal behavior in breastfeeding with the incidence of toddler diarrhea in the
work area of the Plered Community Health Center, Cirebon Regency. The results
of this research are expected to provide information, knowledge and understanding
to the public especially mothers so that it is hoped that it can have an impact on
changing the behavior of mothers and the community when breastfeeding to prevent
diarrhea in toddlers.
