Abstract

Nutrition is an important factor that aims to create quality human resources.
Nutrition is still an important problem in the health sector and nutrition problems
are still a top priority is Triple Burden Malnutrition or known as the three burdens
of nutrition problems, namely stunting/dwarfism, wasting (thin), underweight
(underweight), and overweight (overweight). This study aims to determine the
relationship between maternal knowledge about balanced nutrition and the
nutritional status of children aged 0-5 years in the Working Area of the Cangkol
Health Center, Cirebon City.
The population in this study was a mother who had children under five years
old aged 0-5 years in the Working Area of the Cangkol Health Center, Cirebon City,
with a sample of 78 people, sampling using the Accidental Sampling method. This
research method uses quantitative research with a cross-sectional analytical design,
with an observational approach. The instrument used is a direct measurement
observation sheet.
The results of this study show that mother's knowledge of balanced nutrition
is partially in the sufficient category as many as 38 respondents (48.7%) with the
nutritional status of children mostly with poor nutritional status, namely 34 children

(43.6%), the results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained a value (p-
value = 0.004 < 0.05) showing that there is a significant relationship between the

relationship between maternal knowledge about balanced nutrition and the
nutritional status of children aged 0-5 years In the work area of the Cangkol Health
Center, Cirebon City.
The community is able to increase knowledge by seeking information
through health counseling or social media, and it is recommended to regularly
utilize posyandu facilities and health services to monitor the growth and
development of children as well as get information and education about child
nutrition.
