Abstract

Stunting is a growth and development disorder in children due to chronic
malnutrition and recurrent infections, characterized by a length or height below
the standard. Several factors can cause stunting in children, including low maternal
knowledge about good nutrition during pregnancy and after childbirth, which
affects mothers' behavior in providing balanced nutrition to their children.
This study aimed to identify the relationship between maternal knowledge and
stunting prevention behavior in toddlers in Winong Village, Winong Public Health
Center, Cirebon Regency. The method used was quantitative with a cross-sectional
design, involving 88 respondents selected through proportionate stratified random
sampling. Data were collected and analyzed.
Based on the analysis of 88 respondents, a significant relationship was found
between maternal knowledge and stunting prevention behavior in toddlers in
Winong Village, Winong Public Health Center, Cirebon Regency, with a p-value =
0.040 ≤ 0.05.
Scientifically, it can be concluded that maternal knowledge has a significant
relationship with stunting prevention behavior in toddlers.
It is expected that healthcare workers will provide ongoing education to mothers
with toddlers about stunting, particularly regarding stunting prevention in toddlers.
