Abstract
equipment that can or may cause disease or health problems (Decree of the Minister of
Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2003). Energy is needed by humans to move or do
physical work and also to drive processes in the body such as blood circulation, heart rate,
respiration, digestion and other physiological processes (Notoatmodjo, 2018).
The type of research used by researchers in this research is a type of research
that uses quantitative models. According to (Sugiyono, 2017). This type of research is
based on positive facts found in the field when conducting research which are interpreted
in the form of formulated numbers which will provide accurate information for research.
The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge and sanitation
hygiene of street food vendors in the UPT work area of the Pamitran Health Center, Cirebon
City. The population in this study were 30 food street vendors in the Pamitran Health Center
UPT work area. The samples in this study were taken using a total sampling technique of
30 food street vendors. The data analysis used was univariate data analysis and bivariate
analysis using the chi-square test.
The results of this research show that the sanitation hygiene of food street
vendors in the working area of the UPT Puskesmas Pamitran, Cirebon City mostly does
not meet the requirements, namely 63.3%, this is related to the knowledge of the
respondents, which is mostly sufficient, and the age of the respondents is mostly 51-60
years old who is almost considered elderly. It is known that the results of statistical tests
using the chi square test obtained the Asymp value. Sig. (2-sided) of 0.002 shows p value
< α (0.05), so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which shows that
there is a relationship between knowledge and sanitation hygiene of food street vendors in
the Pamitran Health Center working area, Cirebon City.
It is hoped that Health Agencies, especially environmental health officers at
community health centers, will routinely monitor and carry out Environmental Health
Inspections in the Food Street Vendor sector.
