THE EFFECT OF HISTING CLASSIC MUSIC METHOD ON THE LEVEL OF ANXIETY OF MOTHER WHO WILL BE PERFORMED SECTIO CAESARIA SURGERY AT MITRA PLUMBON HOSPITAL CIREBON

The anxiety of pregnant women patients before sectio caesaria surgery can
cause adverse conditions for the mother and fetus, but the handling of this anxiety
often escapes the attention of health workers. Music is one of the most effective
sensory techniques for diverting attention which can reduce anxiety and increase
relaxation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of listening to
classical music on the anxiety level of mothers who are about to have a caesarean
section operation at Mitra Plumbon Hospital Cirebon.
This type of research that researchers will do uses a quasi-experimental
research method (Quasi Experimental Design). The number of research samples
were 65 preoperative Sectio Caesaria patients in the Operation Transit Room.
The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires and classical music
listening interventions. Univariate and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test.
The anxiety level of preoperative sectio caesarea patients at Mitra Plumbon
Hospital before being given the intervention of listening to classical music, more
than half of the respondents with moderate levels of anxiety were 36 respondents
(55.4%) while after being given the intervention there were 46 respondents
(70.8%). There is an influence of the classical music listening method on the level
of anxiety of mothers who will have a caesarean section operation at Mitra
Plumbon Hospital Cirebon. It is suggested to the management of Mitra Plumbon
Hospital to be able to make the use of classical music therapy an intervention in
the nursing actions of preoperative sectio caesarea patients in reducing anxiety
levels.
