THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BULLYING AND LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN GRADE VIII AT SMPN 1 PABUARAN CIREBON REGENCY

The government promoted programs to combat violence against women and
children, including promotion, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and training in
hospitals and health centers in all states to prevent and address violence against
children, including bullying in schools. The purpose of this study was to determine
the relationship between bullying and learning achievement in grade VIII students
at SMPN 1 Pabuaran, Cirebon Regency.
This type and design of research uses quantitative research methods used using
observation.The total population in this study was 270 students of Class VIII SMPN
I Pabuaran. The sample used was 161 students.
Bullying that occurs in students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri I Pabuaran is in the
low category. It was shown that as many as 60.9% were victims of bullying in the
low category, student achievement in grade VIII SMP Negeri I Pabuaran in the
good category. It was shown that as many as 161 respondents or 100% got learning
achievements in the good category.
There is a significant relationship between the variable of bullying and student
achievement. This can be seen with a Sig. (2- tailed) value of 0.000. or less than
0.05, then it means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Furthermore, a
correlation coefficient number of 0.816 is obtained, meaning that the level of
correlation strength / relationship is a strong relationship. The higher the level of
bullying, the lower the student's learning achievement, and vice versa.
