Abstract

Waste management in the Sitopeng Health Center area has not been carried out optimally,
in which case the surrounding community is still managing waste individually. People in
the Sitopeng Health Center area have not thought about the impact that will be caused when
they dispose of garbage indiscriminately. The purpose of this research was to find out how
household waste is managed in the working area of the Sitopeng Public Health Center,
Cirebon City.
This type of research is quantitative. The population in this study were houses that had poor
waste management in the working area of the Sitopeng Community Health Center, Cirebon
City in 2022, totaling 31 respondents. The sampling technique uses random sampling with
an observation sheet research instrument. Statistical tests use frequency distributions and
data are analyzed univariately.
The results of the researcher's analysis of 31 respondents were that 11 respondents (35.5%)
chose good categories of household waste in the work area of the Sitopeng Health Center,
Cirebon City and 20 (64.5%) bad categories. There were 13 respondents (41.9%) in good
category of household waste collection and 18 (58.1%) in bad category. Household waste
processing was good for 9 respondents (29.0%) and category was not good for 22 (71.0%).
Processing household waste for good category was for 12 respondents (38.7%) and for bad
category was 19 (61.3%).
The puskesmas is expected to further improve health promotion related to environmental
health programs, especially related to household waste management
