Abstract
Young women are more at high risk of anemia than young men. Normal hemoglobin
levels in adolescent girls are 12 g / dL. The normal amount of hemoglobin (hb) is about 15
grams per 100 ml of blood. Low hemoglobin levels < 12 g / dL or anemia is one of the health
problems throughout the world, especially developing countries, where an estimated 30% of
the population suffers from Hb levels of <12 g / dL. Young women who adopt a poor diet can
be at higher risk of suffering from low hemoglobin levels or anemia compared to young women
who adopt a good diet. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Fe
consumption compliance with hemoglobin levels in MTS N 09 Cirebon students.
This study used quantitative methods with correlational analytical design using a
cross sectional approach. The population is all students of MTS N 09 Cirebon totaling 572
students and sampling using purposive sampling was obtained as many as 86 respondents.
The instruments used are Fe consumption compliance questionnaires and observation
sheets for hemoglobin level examination. Data analysis using the Spearman Rank
correlation test with a significant value of ɑ 0.01.
The results of the Spearman Rank Correlation test obtained a p value of 0.000 < ɑ
0.01 obtained an r value (Coefficient of Correlation) is positive with a low category of
0.398 so that both variables are unidirectional then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, then
it can be concluded that there is a relationship between Fe consumption compliance with
hemoglobin levels in MTS N 09 Cirebon students. It is hoped that the school and health
workers can work together in paying attention to and implementing the Fe tablet
administration program and hemoglobin level checks in schools.
