Abstract
Anxiety post natal in mothers who give birth to premature babies can affect their
ability to bond (bonding) with their baby. Data found at Gunung Jati Hospital, Cirebon
City, in 2023 showed that the number of mothers who gave birth to premature babies was
472 cases and the average number of mothers who gave birth to premature babies every
month was 39 cases. This research is to determine the relationship maternal infant bonding
with anxiety post natal in mothers who have premature babies at RSD Gunung Jati,
Cirebon City.
This research uses quantitative methods using a correlational design approach
cross sectional. The population was 39 mothers who had premature babies and the
sampling technique used techniques accidental sampling totaling 25 respondents. The
instrument used is a questionnaire and data analysis uses tests spearman rank.
The research results showed that the majority (60%) of respondents with maternal
infant bonding well and the majority (52%) of respondents experienced mild anxiety. Test
results spearman rank obtained p value = 0.00 < α then the relationship is in the strong
category with a positive direction between the relationships maternal infant bonding with
anxiety post natal in mothers who have premature babies at RSD Gunung Jati, Cirebon
City. Better maternal infant bonding then there is no anxiety.
This research can be used as a reference for nurses in providing counseling and
support sytyem on the mother during the time post natal to do maternal infant bonding well
in mothers of premature babies.
