Abstract

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common heart rhythm disorders.
Knowledge is the main factor associated with medication compliance. The purpose
of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and medication
compliance in AF patients at the Cardiac Clinic of Mitra Plumbon Hospital, Cirebon
District. This study used descriptive analytics with a cross sectional approach. The
population in this study was 76 respondents with a sample of 43 people. The
instrument used was the MMAS-8 questionnaire to measure the level of compliance
and the AFKAT questionnaire to measure knowledge. Data analysis using the
Spearman Rank test The results showed that 55.8% of respondents had poor
knowledge and 44.2% had good knowledge. While 44.4% of respondents had low
medication compliance, 30.2% had moderate medication compliance and 25.6%
had high medication compliance. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen
that the p-value is 0.000 (<0.05), it can be concluded that there is a relationship
between knowledge and compliance with taking medication. Patients are advised
