Abstract

Parenting style is a method chosen by parents in educating their children as
an embodiment of carrying out responsibilities towards children. It can be
understood that parenting style is a method used by parents to educate and
communicate with children which includes providing guidance and responses. The
aim of this research is to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and
children's eating behavior in Krangkeng Village Indramayu Regency.
This type of research is quantitative research using correlational methods
with a cross sectional approach. The sample for this research was the parents of
Raudlatus Sibyan Madrasah students in Krangkeng village, totaling 71 respondents
using a non-probability sampling instrument technique using the Parent Authority
Questionnaire (PAQ) and the Children's Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ).
Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test.
The results of the univariate analysis showed that 47 parents (66.2%)
implemented good parenting patterns, and 46 children (64.8%) did not experience
picky eating habits. Based on the Spearman's rho test, a p-value of 0.00 was obtained
where p <0.05 r = 0.722. This indicates that Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a
relationship between parenting patterns and eating behavior in children.
