Abstract
Children's reactions when being treated are usually afraid of the actions
that will be taken by the hospital. Physical injury and separation are the main
sources of fear in toddlers. The child's response when experiencing fear is that the
child panics, then the child will try to run or avoid it, then the child will cry and
scream to avoid the scary situation. The purpose of this study was to determine the
fear during IV installation in toddlers in the emergency room of Mitra Plumbon
Hospital, Cirebon.
This type of research uses descriptive research with a cross-sectional
approach. The population in this study were all toddler patients who were treated
at the Emergency Room of Mitra Plumbon Hospital, Cirebon, in March 2024, with
as many as 350 respondents, and the sampling technique used was the accidental
sampling method with as many as 78 people. Data collection used observation
sheets and Children's Fear Scale (CFS) sheets. Data analysis was carried out using
