THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE LEVEL AND HYPERTENSION CONTROL EFFORTS IN THE COMMUNITY OF RT 06 IN THE BUKIT PANORAMA INDAH COMMUNICATIONS COMPLEX, PURWAKARTA

Hypertension is a global problem with a high prevalence, hypertension can be defined as
abnormal blood pressure in the arteries. A good level of knowledge can prevent
complications. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the
level of knowledge and efforts to control hypertension in the community of rt 06 in Perum
Bukit Panorama Indah Purwakarta. This study uses quantitative research that uses
descriptive collerational research with a cross sectional approach. With a population of
all rt 06 people in Perum Bukit Panorama Indah Purwakarta which amounted to 102
people. The instrument used was a questionnaire, data analysis using the Spearman Rank
test. The results showed that between the variables there was a correlation coefficient (R)
of 0.629 and a significance value of 0.000 less than 0.05, there was a positive and
significant relationship between the two variables of Knowledge and Control Efforts with
a strong level of relationship. It is expected that individuals with hypertension will do
regular exercise, maintain a healthy lifestyle by reducing salt, and stop smoking.
