injuries, that process is called Triage. Increasing number of visit each year to the
emergency room making the triage process very useful especially in providing
services quickly and accurately, in addition to improving the quality of service,
patients families also experience anxiety due to a lack of information regarding the
triage system. Purpose : This study was conducted to determine the correlation
between Triage Knowledge and Anxiety level of Patient’s Family in Emergency
Room of Mitra Plumbon Indramayu Hospital.
Methods : This study is a type of correlation research with a cross – sectional
approach model. The sample in this study has a total of 54 samples from 118
populations. The sampling method with non – probability techniques using
accidental sampling. Data were obtained using a research instrument, a
questionnaire on the level of knowledge that had been tested for validity and
reliability, as well as a Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS) questionnaire to
measure the level of anxiety.
The results of the data normality test found that the data values were not normally
distributed and a statistical test was carried out using Spearman Rank. After
conducting statistical tests, the result obtained a significance value of 0,001 with a
correlation coefficient of 0,844, which indicates a correlation between triage
knowledge and anxiety leve of patient’s family in emergency room of Mitra
Plumbon Indramayu Hospital.
