Abstract
Based on the results of a preliminary study on March 28 2023 at the Bayu Asih
Regional General Hospital, Purwakarta Regency. There are 16 officers in the filling unit.
There are 2 types of PPE namely, masks and gloves. Based on the observations, it was
found that officers in the filling unit still did not use masks, and gloves were rarely used.
The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of using Personal Protective
Equipment for officers at the filling unit at the Bayu Asih Regional General Hospital,
Purwakarta Regency.
This type of research is descriptive. The research methodology is the observation of
a checklist sheet. The research subjects were 16 officers in the filling unit at the Bayu Asih
Regional General Hospital, Purwakarta Regency. The object of research is masks and
gloves.
The results of the study found that filling officers used masks for personal protective
equipment, namely 60% of the 16 filling officers and carried out for 5 working days. It's
still not implemented properly, because there are still officers who don't use masks. The
use of gloves needs to be increased again because it only reached 15% of the 16 filling
workers and it was carried out for 5 working days, the medical record staff were not aware
of the use of gloves.
The conclusion that can be drawn is based on research conducted at the Bayu Asih
Regional General Hospital, Purwakarta Regency, it was found that filling officers who
were suitable for using personal protective equipment masks were 60% and those who were
not suitable were 40%. For the use of personal protective equipment, gloves need to be
increased because only 15% are suitable and 85% are not suitable. Filling officers are
expected to use personal protective equipment in the filling room, especially the use of
gloves and masks to protect the body from the risk of document dust and cutting hands
while working.
