(KTI) APPROPRIATENESS OF THE PROCESS FOR DESTROYING GENERAL PATIENT MEDICAL RECORD DOCUMENTS AT SUMBER WARAS CIREBON HOSPITAL

Destruction is an activity of physically destroying medical records that have
expired and have no use value, are damaged, illegible and cannot be recognized in terms
of content or form. The implementation of the destruction of medical record documents at
Sumber Waras Hospital, Cirebon will be carried out in June 2023, which is guided by the
SOP for the Implementation of the Process for Destruction of Medical Record
Documents. The purpose of this research is to find out about the process of destroying
general patient medical record documents at Sumber Waras Hospital.
The type of research used is quantitative. The population in this study was all
medical record files for general patients who were discharged in January 2023 – March
2023 with a total of 150 inpatient medical record documents. The sample in this study
consisted of 50 medical record documents. using Simple Random Sampling technique.
This research instrument uses a checklist sheet.
The results of research at Sumber Waras Hospital, Cirebon, showed that of the
50 medical record documents examined, the suitability of the process for destroying
medical record documents at Sumber Waras Hospital, Cirebon Regency, the majority
were 21 documents (42%), and 29 documents (58%) were inappropriate
For this reason, hospitals should provide information regarding the importance
of the process of destroying medical record documents to medical record officers, in
order to improve the quality of hospital services and improve the performance of medical
record officers. Medical records officers must understand the process of destroying
general patient medical record documents
