Abstract

Inpatient indicators are a measure or standard applied in assessing inpatient services. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health. 2005, Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) was the percentage of hospital bed usage in a certain unit of time, the ideal BOR parameter value was 60-85%. The efficiency of using inpatient beds in December 2021 was a BOR value of 20.6%. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of bed usage based on the BOR indicator at Permata Kuningan Hospital.
This type of research used descriptive methods with quantitative analysis. The object of this research was statistical data on bed usage with BOR indicators from January 2022 to April 2023. The research instrument was a checklist sheet.
The results of this study are the efficiency of bed use at Permata Kuningan Hospital from statistical data on the BOR values produced in January to November 2022, namely 22.65%, December, namely 51.08% and January to April 2023, namely 38.03%, which are in the Not-Ideal category, due to the low number of patients being hospitalized, while the BOR value according to the Ministry of Health Standards is between 60-85%.
It is recommended that Permata Kuningan Hospital needs to conduct a medical audit regarding the increasing and the decreasing of the usage of inpatient beds, and make further improvement in the quality of service.
