(KTI) EFFICIENCY OF BED USE BASED ON BARBER JOHNSON INDICATORS FOR 2023-2027 AT THE SUMBER HURIP HOSPITAL CIREBON REGENCY

The quality of medical records is determined by the completeness of the contents,
accuracy and timeliness. Every medical record must be made completely and accurately
because one of the functions of a medical record is a data source for hospital statistics.
The efficiency of bed use can be assessed from hospitalization indicators using the
Barber Johnson chart parameters, namely Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR), Length of Stay
(LOS), Bed Turn Over (BTO), and Turn Over Interval (TOI).
The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of bed use based on
Barber Johnson indicators for 2018-2022 at Sumber Hurip Hospital, Cirebon Regency.
The method used in this research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data
collection procedures by means of observation using the observation guide instrument.
The object of this research is the data of inpatient recapitulation reports at Sumber Hurip
Hospital. The variable of this research is the efficiency of using the bed based on the
Barber Johnson indicator.
The results of this study, the Barber Johnson Chart of Sumber Hurip Hospital,
Cirebon Regency, 2018-2022 show that the use of beds is not efficient because the
meeting point for the four indicators of hospitalization is outside the efficient area. The
BOR indicator values for 2018-2022 have not reached the ideal standards set by Barber
Johnson. The 2018-2022 LOS indicator value has reached the ideal standard set by
Barber Johnson. The TOI indicator values for 2018, 2019 and 2022 have reached the
ideal standard, while 2020 & 2021 have not reached the ideal standard set by Barber
Johnson. The BTO indicator for 2018-2022 has not yet reached the ideal standard set by
Barber Johnson.
Hospitals should continue to innovate hospital marketing on a regular basis by
showing the advantages of hospitals so that the values of the four inpatient indicators are
ideal so that the use of beds becomes efficient.
