Abstract

Final-year students often experience stress when writing their theses due to the
workload and academic pressure. This study aims to determine the relationship between
peer social support and academic stress levels among nursing students at Mahardika
Institute in Cirebon City. This study employed a quantitative method with a crosssectional design, involving 128 students as respondents through total sampling. The
instruments used were a peer social support questionnaire and the DASS 21.
The results showed that most students had sufficient social support (89.1%) and
normal stress levels (75.8%). The chi-square test indicated a significant relationship
between peer social support and stress levels (p-value = 0.000). The conclusion of this
study is that there is a significant relationship between peer social support and academic
stress levels.
