(KTI) REVIEW OF THE ACCURACY CODE OF TRAUMATIC PATIENTS IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT CASES IN INPATIENT BPJS PARTICIPANTS AT ARJAWINANGUN HOSPITAL

Traffic accidents are a big problem that must be faced by the Indonesian nation
today. Traffic accident victims from time to time have a tendency to always increase. The
purpose of this study is to determine the accuracy of the code of traumatic patients in
traffic accident cases in BPJS participants who are hospitalized at Arjawinangun
Hospital.
The type of research used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The
population in this study is document traumatic medical records of traffic accident cases
at Arjawinangun Hospital and the sample in this study is all medical record documents of
traumatic patients in traffic accident cases in January – March 2024 with a total of 82
documents and sampling techniques using the total sampling method. The data collection
technique using observation with the research instrument used is a checklist sheet.
The results of the study obtained from 82 samples of medical records of trauma
patients in traffic accident cases showed that the code rigidity was 47 documents
(57.31%) and inaccuracy was 35 documents (42.69%).
The inaccuracy of the provision of traumatic codes in traffic accident cases is
due to the lack of accuracy in coding disease diagnoses, especially in the 5th character in
the traumatic diagnosis of traffic accident cases. It is recommended that coding officers
in the process of coding the diagnosis of traumatic patients in traffic accident cases must
be more thorough and more specific in providing disease diagnosis codes in order to
produce the right codes.
