Abstract

One of the medical record units to support medical record services is a storage room where files are
stored. Because medical records are confidential and have legal aspects, physical security is the
responsibility of the hospital, while the content aspects of medical records belong to the patient.
This type of research uses descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. According to
Sugiono 2021. Qualitative research is a research method based on post-positivism philosophy, used for
research on the condition of natural objects, where the researcher is a key instrument, data collection
techniques are by triangulation, data analysis is inductive or qualitative which emphasizes meaning rather
than generalization .
Based on the research results, the medical record storage system was based on the research results. It
was found that the Waled General Hospital was carried out using a decentralized system, namely storing
inpatient and outpatient medical records separately. medical record in order of medical record number.
At least move the sink in the medical record storage room so that it is not adjacent to the medical
record storage rack because it can result in wet medical records when exposed to air Change the Head of
Medical Record Installation to make a policy so that no officer does not eat and drink in the storage room
medical records if there are food files attached to the paper it can cause the paper to become damaged or
dirty.
