Abstract
In the era of digitalization of health services, the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) has become a primary need for many hospitals to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of patient data management. EMR offers various benefits, such as easy access to information, reduced risk of medical errors, and acceleration in the clinical decision-making process. However, behind the convenience and benefits offered, serious challenges related to patient data security emerge as issues that must be managed properly. The purpose of this study is to determine the Review of Electronic Medical Record Data Security at Sumber Waras Hospital.
This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis. The subjects and objects of this study are electronic medical record data security, information technology (IT) personnel, and the head and medical records officer. Data collection used a checklist. The variable in this study is electronic medical record data security.
The results of the study indicate that the availability aspect has been met, as evidenced by the automatic backup system to the hospital's NAS device and the system's ability to display data when needed. The confidentiality aspect has also been implemented quite well through the use of a login system, auto-logout, role-based access control, and data encryption. However, in the integrity aspect, shortcomings were still found, namely the lack of electronic signatures as a form of authentication and verification of medical data. In conclusion, there are still shortcomings in the integrity aspect, namely the lack of electronic signatures. It is recommended to immediately develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that regulate the security of electronic medical record data in detail.
