Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease that causes many deaths in tropical
and subtropical areas and is a serious threat to global health. One of the effective control
efforts is through the 3M Plus Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN), which aims to break the
life cycle of the Aedes aegypti mosquito as the main vector causing DHF. This study was
conducted to determine the relationship between the behavior of the 3M Plus PSN and the
incidence of DHF in the work area of the Kalijaga Permai Health Center, Cirebon City.
This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach, where data is
collected at one time. The research sample was 99 houses from a total population of 8,112
houses, which were selected using the proportionate random sampling technique.
Respondents in this study were housewives who were responsible for managing home
cleanliness. The instrument used was a questionnaire sheet, and data analysis was carried
out using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. This study has received
a statement of "Ethical Eligibility" from KEPK ITEKes Mahardika.
The results of the study showed that out of 48 respondents with poor PSN 3M Plus
behavior, 22 people (45.8%) had experienced DHF. Meanwhile, out of 51 respondents who
had good behavior, only 10 people (19.6%) had experienced DHF. The Chi-Square test
showed a p value = 0.010, which means that there is a significant relationship between
PSN 3M Plus behavior and the incidence of DHF.
It is concluded that there is a relationship between PSN 3M Plus behavior and the
incidence of DHF. It is hoped that the health center will increase education and
socialization of the PSN 3M Plus program to the community intensively.
