Abstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a public health problem that remains a challenge,
including the high rate of patient non-compliance with follow-up visits during
treatment. Visual media-based treatment education, such as posters, is expected to
improve patient compliance with follow-up visits. This study to analyze the effect of
pulmonary TB treatment education on compliance with follow-up visits in
pulmonary TB patients in the isolation ward of Mitra Plumbon Hospital. The
research method used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretestposttest. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with 57 respondents.
Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study showed
that the majority of respondents were non-adherent to follow-up visits before the
education intervention, with 30 respondents (52.6%) classified as non-adherent.
After the education intervention, the majority became adherent, with 53
respondents (93.0%) adhering to follow-up visits. The Wilcoxon test indicated a
significant effect of pulmonary TB treatment education using poster media on
follow-up adherence, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05).. The conclusion of this
study is that poster-based education is effective in increasing pulmonary TB patient
compliance with follow-up check-ups. Hospitals are expected to continue utilizing
posters as an educational tool and conduct regular evaluations to ensure the
material remains relevant.
