Abstract
Blood sugar levels, or blood glucose, are the concentration of glucose is the
main source of energy for body cells and comes from the metabolism of carbohydrates
in food. Diet is one of the modifiable risk factors for increasing blood sugar levels.
One behavior that is still a habit of the Indonesian people is an unhealthy diet or
usually consuming fast food. One effort to find out the status of blood sugar levels in
a village is to find out the eating patterns of the community.
The design of this study uses a cross-sectional approach. The instrument used
is a questionnaire sheet. The number of samples is 100 respondents. This study was
conducted in the Kalitanjung Health Center Area of Cirebon City. The sampling
technique in this study is the propotional random sampling technique using univariate
analysis with the chi-square law.
From the results of statistical tets using the chi-square tests, p- value = 0,000
≤ 0,05. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating a significant
relationship between diet and blood sugar levels in the Kalitanjung Health Center
Area, Cirebon City.
The result of this study are expected to increase public knowledge so that they
can change people’s eating patterns to be healthier and more nutritious.
