RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMMUNITY BEHAVIOR AND THE INCIDENCE OF DENGUE FEVER IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE KESUNEAN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER CIREBON CITY

The incidence of dengue fever (DHF) is quite high in the Kesunean community. One
important influencing factor is community behavior regarding knowledge, attitudes,
and actions. This lack of knowledge can lead to delays in initial treatment and can
lead to shock or death if not addressed promptly. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship between community behavior and the incidence of
dengue fever at the Kesunean Community Health Center in Cirebon City. This study
used a cross-sectional design. The instrument used was a questionnaire, with a
sample size of 69 people. The sampling technique used was total sampling, using
univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test.
The results showed that 54 respondents (78.3%) had good behavior, and 15
respondents (21.7%) had poor behavior. The analysis showed a significant
relationship between community behavior and the incidence of dengue fever in the
Kesunean Community Health Center's work area, with a p-value of 0.002 ≤ α (0.05).
It is hoped that community health centers will intensify their education and
outreach efforts to the community regarding dengue fever prevention, especially for
those who still exhibit poor behavior.
