THE RELATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE AND PREVENTION BEHAVIOR OF PULMONARY TB TRANSMISSION IN THE WORKING AREA OF LOSARI COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, CIREBON DISTRICT

The occurrence of unfavorable behavior from the family due to lack of knowledge. according to
Tonsisius Jehaman, 2020 Lack of family knowledge about pulmonary tuberculosis can lead to a
lack of concern for the impact that tuberculosis can cause so that people's knowledge and
awareness to examine sputum as an effort to prevent tuberculosis is still lacking on the grounds
that they are embarrassed and afraid of being diagnosed with tuberculosis lungs. This study aims
to determine the relationship between knowledge and behavior to prevent pulmonary TB
transmission in the working area of the Losari Public Health Center, Cirebon Regency. This
research method uses a type of observational analytic research with a cross-sectional approach.
The population of this study were all pulmonary TB patients in the Losari Cirebon Health Center
Work Area with a total of 60 people. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling,
namely 60 where all populations were sampled. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data
analysis used is univariate analysis and bivariate analysis.
The results of the analysis using univariate analysis with the chi square test obtained a p value of
0.000. So the conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between knowledge and
behavior to prevent pulmonary TB transmission in the working area of the Losari Health Center,
Cirebon Regency
It is hoped that the Puskesmas can use the results of this study as additional information or
material for outreach activities related to community knowledge in preventing pulmonary TB
transmission.
