Abstract
Wound care in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia, we still find many
wound care activities that use conventional / traditional methods.. Previous wound
management did not recognize the existence of a moist wound environment. Old wound
care management or also called the conventional method where only clean the wound
with normal saline or 0.9% NaCl solution and added with iodine providine, then closed
with dry Cassa. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge
and attitudes of nurses with the actions of nurses about wound care using moist wound
healing at the Emergency Room of Mitra Plumbon Hospital.
This type of research is quantitative research with a research design that has a
cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all nurses at the emergency
room of Mitra Plumbon Hospital and the sampling technique used an total sampling
method, as many as 36 people. Data collection using questionnaires and observations.
Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis with percentages and bivariate
analysis with the Spearman Rank test.
The results showed that most of the respondents (66.7%) get knowledge in the
good category, most of the respondents (58.3%) get the attitude in the good category and
most of the respondents (72.2 %) perform wound care by using appropriate moist wound
healing techniques. Spearman Rank test results showed that knowledge and attitude both
have a fairly strong and positive relationship with wound care using moist wound healing
techniques in the Emergency Room of Mitra Plumbon hospital with p value (0,000).
The results of this study is expected to be additional information about Wound
Care moist wound healing so as to improve the ability of nurses in performing services to
patients.
