Abstract
Surgery is any treatment that uses an invasive way by opening or
displaying the part of the body to be treated. Many patients do not want to do
early mobilization because they feel weak, endure pain and assume the action is
done when it has healed. Early mobilization that is not done immediately after
surgery actually increases the pain persistently and obtained complications of
wound healing and bleeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect
of early mobilization on the risk of appendectomy wound infection in the surgical
room Class 3 Mitra Plumbon Hospital.
This type of research is quantitative research with research design with
Quasi Experiment approach. The population in this study were post
appendectomy patients in the Mitra Plumbon hospital and sampling techniques
using purposive sampling method as many as 50 people, divided into 2 groups,
namely the intervention group and control group. Data collection using Reeda
score. Data analysis was done by using univariate analysis with a total score and
find the average, bivariate analysis with Man Whitney U.
The results obtained the probability of difference between the intervention
group and the control group in POD 3 with a confidence level of 95% (α =0.05)
to the value of P (0.017 < 0.05) then accepted H1. Analysis Data can be
concluded that there are significant differences between the intervention group
and the control group in POD 3.
It is expected that the results of this study will be additional information
about early mobilization and post-appendectomy patients can perform early
mobilization so that the wound healing process is getting better.
