Abstract
Preschool children are unable to make geometric shapes in Adinda Early Childhood
Education Cirebon City. After conducting observations using Stimulation, Detection and
Early Child Development Intervention at each age, it was found that the percentage of
children unable to make geometric shapes was 15% at the age of 36-48 months, 11% at the
age of 48-60 months, and 5% at age 60-72 months. This happens to girls and boys at every
age. This study aims to identify the correlation between age and gender with fine motor
development in children at Adinda Education, Cirebon City.
This research uses descriptive correlational with a cross sectional approach. The
population of this study were preschool children at Adinda Education, Cirebon City. The
sampling technique used a total sample technique of 36 children. Data analysis used the
Spearman Rank test with a significant value of α 0.05%.
The results of the Spearman Rank test Ρ-value < α and r < 1, meaning that there is a
positive correlation between age and fine motor development, the older preschool children
get, fine motor development corresponds to age (r = 0.410; Ρ-value = 0.013 ; α = 0.05).
Ρ-value > α and r < 1, meaning there is no correlation between gender and fine motor
development (r = -0.171; Ρ – value = 0.320; α = 0.05).
Parents and families must be able to provide stimulation to train children's fine motor
