THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STUNTING INCIDENCE AND HISTORY OF ANEMIA DURING PREGNANCY IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE WATUBELAH HEALTH CENTER

Anemia in pregnancy is a condition that occurs during pregnancy which is
characterized by hemoglobin levels of less than 11 g/dl. Mothers with a history of anemia
during pregnancy are more at risk of stunted babies. This is because the nutritional intake
obtained is not enough for their needs.
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between stunting incidence
and history of anemia during pregnancy in the Working Area of the Watubelah Health
Center. This study uses a quantitative method using a correlational design with a cross
sectional approach. The population of this study was 461 toddlers in the working area of the
Watubelah Health Center and the sampling technique with purposive sampling was obtained
by 82 respondents. Data collection uses secondary data contained in the mother's KIA book
to see the results of hemoglobin level checks during pregnancy and to see the results of
anthropometry of toddlers.
The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between stunting
incidence and history of anemia during pregnancy with a significant value of p-value = 0.001
(p<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the incidence of stunting
and a history of anemia during pregnancy in the Working Area of the Watubelah Health
Center. It is hoped that health workers can provide clear information on anemia and
stunting. So that pregnant women can find out how dangerous the history of anemia is in
pregnant women because it can cause stunting in toddlers.
