Abstract

Cases of chronic kidney failure globally continue to show an increase. In 2021, the number of cases exceeded 843.6 million and it was estimated that the number of deaths due to chronic kidney failure will increase by 41.5% in 2040. This study aims to determine the relationship between age and history of hypertension with the value of glomerular filtration rate in patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis at Arjawinangun Region Hospital.
This study used a cross-sectional design. A sample of 55 patients was taken using total sampling obtained from medical records. The used instrument was a recording sheet. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with the Spearman test and one-way ANOVA.
The results showed that 47.3% of patients were in late adulthood (45-60 years old). Most patients had a history of hypertension as much as 70.9%. The average GFR value of patients was 7.49 ml/min/1.73m2. The results of statistical tests with a significance value of 0.05 showed a relationship between age and the value of glomerular filtration rate in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis (p = 0.003) and there was a relationship between a history of hypertension and the value of glomerular filtration rate in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis (p = 0.004).
It is expected that chronic kidney failure patients at Arjawinangun Region Hospital can follow hemodialysis therapy according to a predetermined schedule with strong support from the family.
