RELATIONSHIP OF PERMISSIVE PARENTING PATTERNS AND TENDENCY OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY IN STATE VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 2 INDRAMAYU DISTRICT

Permissive parenting is a parenting pattern where parents give less rules, where
parents give more freedom to their children, letting them do what they want.
Juvenile delinquency can be interpreted as deviant behaviors that are carried out
by a teenager either alone or in a group. The purpose of this study was to determine
the relationship of permissive parenting patterns and the tendency of juvenile
delinquency.
This study used a quantitative method using a correlational design with a cross
sectional approach. The population was all 10 grade. The sampling technique used
the probability sampling method used the Stratified Random Sampling technique
from 86 respondents in total. The instruments used were the permissive parenting
scale questionnaire and the juvenile delinquency scale. data analysis using the
Spearman rank test.
The results of the study was found that most teenagers were in the delinquent
category, as many as 61 people (70.9%) with the permissive parenting category as
many as 57 people (66.3%). The results of the Spearman rank test showed that the
correlation of permissive parenting and juvenile delinquency was strong with an r
value (Correlation coefficient) of 0.681. This result is also strengthened by a
significance value of 0.001, meaning a significance value <α (0.05) so that it can
be concluded that statistically there is a relationship of permissive parenting and
juvenile delinquency.
